4 week Ashtanga Beginners Course with Grace
£120
Curious about Ashtanga but never tried it? Good. This is exactly where you start.
Or maybe you've been to a class before — you enjoyed it, but it moved a little too fast to really take it in. Either way, we understand. And we're here to support you in feeling more confident and at home in your practice.
Ashtanga, meaning "eight-limbed," is rooted in the ancient Yoga Sutras and built around a set sequence of postures. That might sound rigid at first — but there's a quiet magic in it. Because the sequence never changes, your thinking mind gradually gets to step back. What begins as effort slowly becomes flow. What begins as unfamiliar slowly becomes second nature. This four-week course is designed to let you in at the beginning — the real beginning.
We'll move through the sequence gently and in small pieces, so that every Sunday you leave feeling a little stronger, more at ease, and more confident in your movement.
Each session we'll explore the eight limbs, the Primary Series asana sequence, ujjayi breath, drishti gaze, and bandha energy locks — building a physical and inner foundation that will carry you confidently into any class. So why practice Ashtanga? It is known to help cleanse both the external and internal worlds — detoxifying the body, purifying the mind, and building physical and mental strength from the inside out.
You don't need flexibility. No experience necessary. Just show up.
This is a 4 week course, running at 12.30-2pm on Sundays:
